Implementation Specialist

The Implementation Specialist plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, workflow-aligned, and compliant solutions for our clients who use Lockbox LIMS, our Salesforce-based laboratory information management system. This role serves as both a functional liaison and a technical configurator to ensure that the Lockbox LIMS implementation accurately reflects client needs, supports operational efficiency, and meets regulatory expectations.

This position combines strong analytical, communication, and technical configuration skills. The Implementation Specialist deeply understands client lab processes, translates them into actionable requirements, and configures Salesforce and Lockbox to create scalable, low-code, high-usability solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand objectives, workflows, pain points, and regulatory needs.
  • Document a detailed understanding of lab processes, decision points, and core business rules.
  • Assess requirements and map them to Lockbox LIMS.
  • Configure objects, fields, layouts, flows, validation rules, formulas, permissions, and reports.
  • Tailor Lockbox modules to laboratory workflows, including intake, processing, tracking, results, and reporting, while prioritizing low-code, best-practice solutions that ensure efficiency, data integrity, and compliance.
  • Translate client needs into clear, actionable, and prioritized requirements with acceptance criteria.
  • Produce documentation including user stories, process flows, functional specifications, configuration notes, and testing guides.
  • Lead solution reviews, demos, and prototype walkthroughs.
  • Track and resolve defects, enhancements, and workflow gaps, incorporating user feedback to optimize adoption and performance.
  • Manage deliverables consistent with project plans, issue logs, meetings, and stakeholder follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to communicate progress, risks, and escalations.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Salesforce Low-Code Implementation: Proficient in designing and configuring solutions using standard Salesforce tools, including Lightning Pages, Salesforce Flow, permission sets, validation rules, formulas, and reporting.
  • Workflow Analysis and Documentation: Strong capability in capturing, analyzing, and documenting complex lab and business workflows. This includes documenting at both a high-level and task-level detail using long-form text, Lucidchart, and/or similar tools for effective requirement management and workflow design.
  • Communication and Facilitation: Excellent listening, communication, and client-facing skills, with a proven ability to effectively facilitate discussions.
  • Project Coordination: Strong task management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Industry Experience: Hands-on laboratory experience and proven ability to consult with PhD-level stakeholders with complex operational requirements.

Implementation Developer

The Implementation Developer is a high-impact hybrid role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Lockbox LIMS—our Salesforce-based laboratory information management system.

This role sits at the intersection of business analysis and technical engineering. You will act as the Functional Owner of specific client features, the Builder of the core UI/logic, and the Developer of complex programmatic solutions. Your mission is to ensure that Lockbox LIMS is not only technically sound but perfectly aligned with the complex, regulated workflows of modern laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with stakeholders to determine, write, and obtain client approval for detailed User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Lead functional testing and conduct live demos to solicit feedback and ensure high user adoption.
  • Configure Lockbox LIMS and Salesforce functionality, including Protocols, CSV import templates, permission sets, validation rules, sharing rules, formulas, and reporting.
  • Design and build Salesforce Flows.
  • Develop custom Apex, Visualforce (VF), and Lightning Web Components (LWC) when out-of-the-box configuration reaches its limit.
  • Deliver tested solutions that meet the approved Acceptance Criteria.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to communicate progress and escalate risks.

Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering Lockbox LIMS implementation projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role oversees the full project lifecycle—scoping, requirements, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support—while serving as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and key stakeholders.

The Project Manager is accountable to the Engagement Director and holds primary accountability for project success. They are the central point of ownership for delivery, working directly with the customer and involving the Engagement Director as needed for escalation, decision support, and executive alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Lockbox LIMS implementation projects, managing them end-to-end from initial kickoff through successful go-live and final closeout.
  • Oversee Business Analysts assigned to projects, ensuring that all components of the project are running on time, on scope, and within budget.
  • Assess business and operational requirements and map them into overall solution design, working with the System Architect to ensure the solution is operationally and technically sound and feasible while staying within project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Define and document project charter, timelines, key deliverables, and success metrics.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project plans, schedules, resource forecasts, and financial budgets, accounting for future dependencies, resource availability conflicts, and potential failure points.
  • Act as the primary communication point, providing clear and regular updates on project status, risks, and issues tailored to client and internal stakeholders at all levels of the org chart, from core team to C-suite.
  • Provide clear early warnings on emerging risks or misalignments and recommend corrective actions before they affect deliverables.
  • Maintain meticulous project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and RAID logs for Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies.
  • Ensure all project records are accurate and current.
  • Control and manage all changes to the project scope, timeline, and/or budget via a formal change control process, including thorough impact analysis and securing necessary approvals.
  • Coordinate and oversee all activities related to system testing, release management, and final deployment.
  • Manage the hypercare support phase and gather client feedback for continuous process and system improvements.
  • Proactively anticipate both risks and opportunities by assessing upcoming dependencies, potential bottlenecks, and downstream impacts.
  • Surface emerging issues early, highlight beneficial openings when they appear, and recommend thoughtful mitigation or action plans to keep the project aligned with scope, schedule, and quality objectives.

Senior Salesforce Systems Analyst

The Senior Salesforce Systems Analyst will provide system administration and business analysis support for Third Wave’s Salesforce CRM, which underpins internal operations. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing a suite of custom, in-house applications built on the Salesforce platform. In addition to day-to-day administration, the consultant will partner with stakeholders to enhance functionality, improve business processes, and extend system capabilities. The role operates under the guidance of a senior internal lead with deep institutional knowledge of the CRM and its evolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the Salesforce CRM instance, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and user support.
  • Manage user access, profiles, permissions, and environment configurations.
  • Monitor and support custom applications supporting core business functions, including:
    • Sales Orders
    • Customer Licensing and Subscriptions
    • Professional Services, including SOWs and Timesheets
    • Accounts Receivable, including Invoicing
    • Configuration Management, including epics, user stories, and system components
    • Project Issue Tracking
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable Salesforce solutions.
  • Design, configure, and optimize solutions using Salesforce tools, including Flow Builder and declarative configuration.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Developers when Apex is required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, automation, and reporting capabilities.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of Salesforce experience, including strong system administration expertise.
  • Proven experience supporting complex Salesforce orgs with custom applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Flow Builder, declarative configuration, and Salesforce data modeling.
  • Experience acting in a business analyst capacity, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, including subscriptions and licensing.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Professional Services Automation (PSA), accounts receivable processes, or financial workflows in Salesforce.
