Third Wave Releases Lockbox LIMS Version 1.84, the Latest Verified Clinical Release

Lockbox LIMS Version 1.84 is now available, and is the latest Lockbox LIMS clinical update. It includes brand new features and enhancements in Protocol Execution, Study Management, and Sample Tracking modules.

New Features for Your Lab

  • Layout updates for Edit Record supported actions. This enhancement simplifies the page views for Edit Plate, Edit Procedure, and Edit Protocol pages by displaying user input below each field label, which prevents overlap between the field label and input area.
  • New Study and Shipment custom objects. These new objects allow improved tracking of clinical or research studies and seamless tracking of incoming, outgoing, or internal shipments.
  • Delimiter Selector for CSV file import in protocol execution. This enhancement further supports European customers who need to use semicolon delimiters. The delimiter selection is saved as a default for future CSV file imports.

Update Lockbox LIMS to Access The Latest

For detailed information about Lockbox LIMS Version 1.84, please refer to the Release Notes. We recommend updating  if you want to access these key features:

  • CSV File Import: Skip row if equals (v1.78). If your laboratory instruments insert rows into a CSV file that aren’t needed in Lockbox, you can designate an exact and case sensitive value for the CSV file import tool to ignore.
  • Scan to Select inventory (v1.78). This new feature saves time in the lab by allowing users to directly select inventory by scanning barcodes.
  • New Custom Object Reservation (v1.79). This object lets users collect start and end times, plus information about users when they reserve laboratory instruments.
  • Validation of Headers imported during Protocol Execution (v1.80). This enhancement displays an error message if the column headers in a CSV file import don’t match the column headers in the data entry page.
  • Protocol Execution with insert null behavior by step (v1.80). This update allows null values to be ignored or overwritten during a CSV file import.
  • Automatically Add Protocols by flow action (v1.80). This update allows users to seamlessly start protocols or workflows by automatically adding them to samples or plates, eliminating the need to manually click Select Protocol.
  • Option Width Override for Protocol instructions column (v1.82). To see protocol instructions or notes, lab users can now easily change the column widths on the protocol execution screen.
  • New Custom Object Kit (v1.83). This enhancement simplifies inventory records for lab users. It allows users to enter records representing a collection, inventories, or a testing kit.

Clinical Release Full Verification: What It Means for Your Lab

Third Wave Analytics follows GAMP5, the risk-based approach to compliant GxP computerized systems.

GAMP5 refers to the Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP) Guide version 5, guidelines that ensure the quality and compliance of computerized systems used in the pharmaceutical and related industries. GAMP5 is a widely accepted industry standard developed by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE).

GxP stands for ‘Good Practice’ quality guidelines and regulations, where ‘x’ can be replaced by different aspects of pharmaceutical operations, including Manufacturing (GMP), Laboratory (GLP), or Clinical (GCP) standards. These guidelines help ensure the safety, efficacy, and quality of products in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries.

The risk-based approach of GAMP5 focuses on identifying, assessing, and controlling potential risks associated with computerized systems throughout their lifecycle. This allows our customers’ labs to allocate resources efficiently and prioritize efforts on areas with higher risks, ultimately ensuring the quality and compliance of their lab systems.

For LockBox LIMS, Third Wave Analytics ensures every feature works to spec. For Version 1.84 verification, our Quality Assurance team thoroughly tested and documented every use case scenario. A detailed explanation of the full verification process Third Wave follows can be found below, for Information Security Officers.
